  21.     First excuse my poor english.  i'm spanish.  :-)

  23.     In  Spain every next day is more hard to find suitable Joysticks to
  24. use  in the Amiga, Here in Granada it's almost impossible, we need to find
  25. they  outside...  this is time consuming and expensive.  When i found it we
  26. have other problem usually the Joystick have one or two buttons, this makes
  27. it  unusable  to play games on some emulators like WarpSnes or MamePPC that
  28. requires  a  CD32  PAD to play games with more than two buttons...  But one
  29. day  looking  shops i see lots of PlayStation pads...  There are in a great
  30. variety  of  colors,  forms...  and prices...  it's posible find cheap Pads
  31. here  next  of my home...  but we can't use they on my Amiga...  or not?...

  38.     By  now  APPE  emulates  the  way that a normal Amiga 3 button Joystick
  39. operates  but  this  isn't the original idea the idea was to emulate a CD32
  40. pad  using a PlayStation pad, but i can't because i haven't any idea on how
  41. a  CD32  pad electronically works...  and the info available have errors or
  42. is incomplete.

  49.     APPE  is an interface capable to use PlayStation pads like as Amiga
  50. Joysticks.   There's  no need for any kind of software to use it, it's 100%
  51. compatible  with  the 100% of the soft that uses a Joystick, and works with
  52. any digital PlayStation pad on any Amiga model.
  53.  
  54.     Is  possible  use  it  also  on  any  computer  that  uses standard
  55. Joysticks with DB9 connector like the Commodore 64, MSX, Spectrum (requires
  56. joystick interface) Amstrad CPC, Atari...  etc.

  58.     The  buttons  used by now are:  Direction, square, X, and circle on
  59. the Playstation Pad, (Direction, Fire 1,2 and 3)

  63.                There are two ways to get your APPE working:

  67.     You can order it by mail to me for only 16£, 48dm, or 24 euros.  If
  68. you  buy  it  you obtain two benefices, first a quality assembled inferface
  69. and second the upgrades to versions 2 and 3 for free, simply sending me the
  70. interface and the mail cost.

  72.     Also  you  can  build  your own one, but you need some electronical
  73. aknowledge,   some  ability  and  the  components  listed  in  the  archive
  74. APPE_SQ.GIF,  these  components are cheap and simple to find except the Pad
  75. connector,  the best way to obtain it is buying a pad extensor cable on any
  76. console  shop,  and  cutting the right connector.  The heart of APPE is the
  77. PIC16F84 processor that needs the file APPE1_2.HEX to run.

  79.     If  you  decide  to  mount  it  yourself this is GIFTWARE, you must
  80. sendme  a  gift.   but if you decide to build lots of interfaces to sell it
  81. and  win  money (ej any Amiga hardware manufacturer) please do a mention of
  82. the  original  author  and  send me a percentage from the amount.  :) Think
  83. that you're getting money with my idea and my work.

  85.     Note:   The  schematic  found  in  the archive APPE_SQ.GIF was made
  86. using the AmiCAD program

  93.     APPE  v2  will  emulate  near  to  perfection the CD32 pad and will
  94. include  an  auto  fire  system  for all the CD32 buttons.  But this is not
  95. possible  because  i  don't know how a CD32 pad works, so to do v2 i need a
  96. CD32 pad first...  i need that someone send me one.  Is not important if it
  97. works or not, so if you have a crashed CD32 pad, sendme it please.

  99.     APPE  v3  will  go  one  step  forward and will enable the analogic
  100. stickers (like the found on Dualshok) to emulate the Amiga mouse and use
  101. the PlayStation mices like as Amiga ones.

  103.     APPE v4 ...... posibly Dual Shock vibration... ;-) who knows?

  106.     All  of this seems to be fantastic, but without feedback i don't do
  107. nothing  more,  i  have few time to develop or investigate until i get some
  108. response  from  the amiga community.  Why develop a thing that seems to not
  109. make any interest?

  143.     En  España  cada  dia  resulta  más dificil encontrar accesorios de
  144. Amiga,  con  los  joysticks  pasa  lo  mismo,  concretamente  en Granada es
  145. imposible  encontrar  uno, hay que pedirlo fuera y eso vale el dinero, y lo
  146. que es peor es un coñazo.  Además hacer juegos en el Amiga es problematico,
  147. los  juegos  modernos requieren algo mas que el boton o los dos botones que
  148. soportan  los joysticks tradicionales, por lo que lo ideal era conseguir un
  149. pad de la CD32, pero si dificil es encontrar un Joystick, un pad de la CD32
  150. es  una  lujuria.   Ante  este  panorama y la muerte de mi antiguo Joystick
  151. comenzamos   a  lamentarnos  de  lo  dificil  que  resultaba  encontrar  un
  152. Joystick...   y  cuando  lo encuentras es demasiado antiguo y además feo...
  153. Sin  embargo  caramba...  Que manejeros y que comodos que son los Joysticks
  154. de  PlayStation...   hmmm  son  robustos...   hmmm  los  hay  en  todas las
  155. tiendas...   y  que  enorme  variedad  de modelos...  hmmm ¡estan llenos de
  156. botones!, y para colmo son baratos...  Asi Nacio APPE:

  162.     Actualmente  APPE  emula un Joystick con 3 botones, que es lo normal en
  163. un  Joystick  de Amiga, pero esa no era la idea original la idea era emular
  164. un  Joystick  de  la CD32 utilizando un Pad de PlayStation, pero para poder
  165. emular  un  pad  de  CD32  necesito saber como funciona ya que no he tenido
  166. nunca ninguno, y las informaciones que he podido encontrar son incompletas.

  173.     Este es un interface hardware que te permite utilizar cualquier pad
  174. o  joystick  digital  de  PlayStation  en tu Amiga como si se tratase de un
  175. joystick  de  los de toda la vida.  No es necesario ningún tipo de Software
  176. para  que  funcione,  por lo que es 100% compatible con todo el software de
  177. Amiga que utilize un joystick.

  179.     Tambien  es  posible  utilizarlo  en todos aquellos ordenadores y/o
  180. consolas  que  soportan el Joystick standard con el conector DB9, o sea que
  181. lo  puedes  utilizar  en tu Commodore 64, MSX, Spectrum (requere interface)
  182. AmstradCPC, Atari...
  183.  
  184.     Los  botones que se usan del pad son los cuatro de la direccion, el
  185. cuadrado,  la equis y el circulo, que emula la direccion, fuego 1, 2 y 3 de
  186. un joystick de Amiga.

  189.          Existen dos maneras para poder disfrutar de este aparato:

  192.     La  primera es comprarmelo directamente a mi, el precio del aparato
  193. gastos  de  envio  incluidos  es  de  4000  pts con lo que obtendrás varias
  194. ventajas, la primera es que el montaje será de calidad, y la segunda es que
  195. te  lo  actualizaré  gratis  (pagando los gastos de envio) a las siguientes
  196. versiones 2 y 3, ya que el emulador utiliza una Flashrom.

  199.     La  segunda es montandolo tu mismo, para lo que necesitas una serie
  200. de  componentes, habilidad y unos conocimientos minimos de electronica para
  201. interpretar  el esquema, la lista de componentes se encuentra en el fichero
  202. APPE_SQ.GIF,  no tendrás ninguna dificultad para encontrar los componentes,
  203. pero  la  mejor manera de encontrar un conector para el mando de la play es
  204. comprando  un  cable  prolongador  del mando de la PlayStation en cualquier
  205. tienda  donde  vendan  accesorios  y  cortar  el  conector.  El corazon del
  206. montaje es el procesador PIC16F84, el cual ha de ser grabado con el fichero
  207. APPE1_2.hex.
  208.     
  209.     Si decides montar tu mismo el Aparato estas sujeto a las reglas del
  210. GIFTWARE, es decir tienes que mandarme un regalo.

  212.     Si   decides   montar  el  aparato  para  venderlo  comercialmente,
  213. acuerdate  de  mi,  ya que estarás ganando dinero con mi idea y mi trabajo,
  214. así  que  estas sujeto a las reglas del PERCENTWARE, es decir me tienes que
  215. dar un porcentaje de los beneficios.

  218.     Nota:  El esquema ha sido realizado utilizando el programa AmiCAD.

  225.     APPE  v2  emulara  perfectamente el PAD de la CD32 e incorporará un
  226. sistema  de  disparo  automatico para cualquuiera de los botones.  Pero por
  227. desgracia  no  dispongo  de  información clara ni de un PAD CD32 para saber
  228. como  funciona.  Solo hay una manera de poder emular un pad de la CD32 y es
  229. que alguien me envie uno, no importa si está roto.

  231.     APPE  v3  irá  un paso más adelante, permitirá usar los stickers de
  232. los  mandos  analógicos (DualShock) como ratón de Amiga, y además permitirá
  233. utilizar los ratones de PlayStation como ratones de Amiga.

  235.     APPE v4 ..... vibración... ¿quien sabe? ;-)

  237.     Todo  esto  es  fantástico, pero no puedo dedicar mucho tiempo a la
  238. investigación y desarrollo, necesito ayuda, lo primero un Pad de la CD32, y
  239. lo segundo interés por parte de los usuarios, ya que si este producto no le
  240. interesa a nadie ¿para que continuar con el?
